I guess you could say that this is a perk of the magazine feature in Nashville Lifestyles Magazine. Or the stars aligned. Or fate was on my side. Either way, I had a great time at this event.
I was invited to attend and be a part of the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee’s Annual Fundraiser – Wine, Women, and Shoes. This awesome event is their annual flagship fundraiser that goes to support their mission to Eliminate Racism and Empower Women – two causes that are near and dear to my heart.
When they asked me to attend, I was not sure what my role would be but when they told me I would be judging the Annual Best Shoe contest, I jumped at the chance. It was a great day; I got to interact with beautiful women, help support a great cause, and intertwine style with all of that.
The event itself was masterfully put together and was held at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Nashville. There were hundreds of women (and men) in attendance and support this organization they did!
As the women entered, I (and my team) selected women to compete in the “Best Shoe Competition.” And if that wasn’t enough, after the judging had taken place, I got to announce the winners of the competition on stage, which was amazing!
Aside from learning how the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee help improve the lives of women in the community, I got to learn about another organization and make connections there. I urge everyone to get out to see what your community has to offer. Even if you don't think that you have a place there, try it out. You never know what or who you might come across.
Kudos to the YWCA for their awesome work and for the phenomenal event. Maybe I’ll be asked to come back (fingers crossed).
